|Peter M. Horan, M.D. is Founder and
President of Primary Medical Care. He graduated from Tufts University School of
Medicine in 1965, and is a General Practitioner. Doctor Horan served as Chief
Medical Officer on the U.S. Navy Destroyer, Division 102, during 1966 to 1968.
He maintained staff privileges at SouthCoast Hospital from 1968 to 1988. Due to
increasing demand, Doctor Horan opted to maintain an office based medical
practice for preventive treatment of his patients.
Doctor Horan has
completed studies at: Yale School of Medicine, Boston University, Institute of
Aerobics Research, and Good Samaritan Hospital.
He is a Civil Surgeon
of the United States Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization
Services, and is responsible for performing medical examinations of aliens in
the United States. In addition, Dr. Horan is a Senior Medical Examiner with the
United States Department of Transportation and is certified to perform medical
examinations for all class of licensed pilots, and to assist the D.O.T. in
investigations of aircraft accidents.
Over the past ten years, Doctor
Horan has been Medical Consultant and Sports Physician for community schools
throughout the New Bedford area.
He has hosted, for several years,
radio medical talk show programs, educating and informing residents of
Southeastern Massachusetts on medical and preventive issues. Doctor Horan is a
recognized authority in the treatment of obesity, and specializes in
cardiovascular health, geriatric illnesses, male impotence and sexual
dysfunctions, diabetes and other general health conditions.
Horan is a member of the: American Academy of Family Physicians, Association of
American Physicians and Surgeons, and American College of Sports Medicine.
Currently, Doctor Horan is in active office
